All Instructors Are Florida State-Certified

Every Cantorís Driving School instructor is certified by the State of Florida, a rigorous process that includes driving instructor training and submission of extensive documentation proving credibility of qualifications and character, including:
  • Complete the 32-hour Driving Instructor Training Course (DITC)
  • Submit a commercial driving school instructor application
  • Driving school owner Frank Cantor must provide a notarized statement of employment as a driving instructor at his school
  • A valid Florida driver license and a clear driving record for the previous 3 years (at least), with no license "suspensions, revocations, cancellations, or disqualification"
  • Submit a set of fingerprints for a fingerprint-based criminal background check
  • Submit a recent, clean Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) report
  • Certification must be renewed every year

Glenn Topping

Glenn is a retired Broward County Patrol Sergeant. He presently is an Air Security Officer who assists Immigration and Customs Enforcement with custody and control of detainees. During his tenure in the Police force he completed many training classes and has received many honors and awards for his police work. Glenn is also currently a private Investigator and bodyguard; his company is Spyglass Investigations and Protection LLC. He is a graduate of Miami Dade College.

Michael Banks

Michael is retired from the Pembroke Pines Police Department. He served the department for 25 years as a patrol officer for 5 years and a Traffic Homicide Investigator in the traffic unit for 20 years. Michael has investigated hundreds of traffic crashes over the years and has taught other members of the department crash investigation and traffic safety. He also taught traffic school safety courses. Michael is a native of South Florida and a resident of Broward County.

Mike Conklin

Mike is retired from the New York City Police Department. He served as a police officer for over 5 years and as a detective investigator on the highway patrol/accident investigation division for over 15 years. Mike has performed numberous criminal investigations of motor vehicle accidents with emphasis on leaving the scene, serious injuries and fatalities. After retiring from NYPD, he was a special investigator conducting insurance fraud, vehicle theft and surveillance. Mike's background in motor vehicle accidents is an asset to teaching all ages to be defensive and safe drivers. Mike is a resident of Palm Beach County.

Al Caballero

Al is a retired Law Enforcement Officer with the New York City Police Department. Alís 17 years of experience includes working as a Patrol Officer (from investigating accidents for the Streets Division to the Health & Hospital Corporation), Security Detail for the New York Yankees, and Detective with the Organized Crime Control Bureau. Al has also worked with the NYC Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer. Al resides with his family in Palm Beach County and is fluent in Spanish as well as English. He has two daughters whom he has personally taught to drive. His experience, patience and bilingual skills help him effectively teach students of all ages to drive safely.

Gordon Starr

Gordon is retired from the United States Navy as a Military Police Officer, Chief of Police for the Military Police Academy and Criminal Investigator. He was also a Palm Beach Sheriff serving as a District Police Officer, Gang Task Force and Deputy Patrol Officer. Gordon has extensive background in accident investigation and aggressive driving enforcement. He is a resident of Palm Beach County.

Maggie Starr

Maggie received her certification to teach Behind the Wheel instruction from the University of North Texas, Denton in 1993. She then became a registered and licensed extension of USA Training Co Inc, authorized to offer Driver Safety classes in 1995. Maggie also earned a certification in Alcohol and Drug Education Studies from the Texas DWI and MIP Education Program at Texas A&M University as an Administrator/Instructor in 1995. She taught the 6 hour defensive driving classes and provided behind the wheel driving instruction to teens and adults in the Dallas metroplex. Maggie moved to Palm Beach County in 2006 and has been teaching Driver Improvement classes. Her patience and communication skills put students at ease as they become safe and confident drivers.

Noureddine Henderson

Noureddine is a retired Corrections Lieutenant and is also a Navy Veteran. He served four years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and then 23 years as a Corrections Officer. During his career he received multiple honors and awards for his commitment and dedication from both Corrections and his time in the Navy. He currently works as a Security Officer at Somerset Academy Boynton Beach Middle and High School. He is a Palm Beach resident, narried and has 3 children. His career has allowed him to develop strong communication skills and patience that influence his work with student drivers.

Hubert Desselle

Hubert is a resident of Martin County, Florida. He has extensive training and experience as a personal instructor, motivator and coach. He has been doing public speaking for over 50 years. Hubert is a natural instructor. Along with being familiar with the principles and techniques of neurolinguistic programming, he has provided private instruction for personal improvement and motivation to individuals in both private and classroom settings. As such, Hubert has positively affected the lives of his many students over the years. He reads, writes and speaks French fluently across a variety of dialects, and speaks and reads Haitian Creole. Hubert has been very effective in providing private driving lessons in New York to the French and Creole population. Hubert has a certification as a Professional Driving School Instructor in Teaching Techniques and Methodology from Bronx Community College, and is thus qualified as an instructor in a classroom setting. Hubert completed the requisite 30-hour driving instructor certification for private instructor in New York State, and has met all the requisite certifications as a driving instructor in the state of Florida, as well. He is married and has five adult children and four grandchildren.

Gilbert Cruz

Gilbert is a former law enforcement officer with the New York City Corrections Department where he maintained a well trained staff of officers as well as inmates in maximum security detention centers. He has also held positions in security with various companies in Orlando including Criminal Justice Centers and the US Navy facility. He is well versed in handling emergency situations which will benefit both adult and student drivers. Gilbert is fluent in Spanish and is a resident of Orlando.
